2025 Club Grants

The Australian Liberal Students’ Federation (ALSF) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 Club Grants Program, designed to support affiliated Liberal student Clubs across Australia.

Applications opened on Wednesday, 27 August 2025 at 12.00 PM (AEST) and will close on Wednesday, 24 September 2025 at 12.00pm (AEST).

The Federation's Executive will consider each of the applications, and will inform applicant Clubs as to the status of their applications in due course.

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

  • Applications are open to any club affiliated with the ALSF.
  • Applications must be submitted by a member of the club’s executive (e.g., President, Vice-President, Treasurer, or Secretary).
  • Only one application per affiliated club will be considered in each funding round.

Purpose of the Grants

Funds provided under this program must be used to support activities that advance the objectives of the ALSF and affiliated clubs. Examples include:

  • Recruitment initiatives to grow membership.
  • Advocacy and campaigns on campus promoting liberal values and policies.
  • Events and activities such as guest speaker forums, policy discussions, and networking functions.
  • Promotional materials — flyers, banners, merchandise, or digital advertising designed to engage students.

Application Requirements

Each application must include:

  1. Completed Application Form — available via the ALSF Secretariat.
  2. Project Summary — outline the initiative or activity to be funded.
  3. Budget Breakdown — provide detailed cost estimates for proposed expenditure.
  4. Supporting Statement — up to 300 words describing:
    • How the proposed activity aligns with the ALSF’s objectives.
    • Expected benefits for the club and broader student community.
  5. Commitment to Reporting — confirmation that:
    • Funds will be spent solely for the purposes outlined in the application.
    • Full acquittal of funds will be provided within 30 days of the funded activity’s completion, including receipts.

Assessment Criteria

Applications will be assessed on:

  • Alignment with ALSF objectives and club development priorities.
  • Impact and reach — potential to engage students and promote liberal values.
  • Value for money — efficient and transparent use of funds.
  • Capacity to deliver — evidence the club can implement the proposed initiative effectively.

Other Terms and Conditions

  • The ALSF reserves the right to approve or reject any application at its discretion.
  • All funded clubs agree to:
    • Submit a post-activity report detailing outcomes, attendance, and photos where applicable.
    • Allow the ALSF to audit expenditure to ensure funds are used as intended.
    • Return any unspent funds to the ALSF within 30 days of the project’s completion.
  • Applications that do not comply with the criteria or lack sufficient detail may not be considered.
