Federal Council Ticket Terms and Conditions

Australian Liberal Students Federation

By purchasing, registering for, holding, accepting or using a ticket to any Australian Liberal Students Federation Federal Council event, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to the Australian Liberal Students Federation Code of Conduct.

1. Application of these Terms

  1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all tickets, registrations, functions, meetings, receptions, dinners, social events and associated activities connected with Australian Liberal Students Federation Federal Council, whether held formally or informally and whether ticketed separately or included as part of a broader registration.
  2. In these Terms and Conditions, ALSF, the Federation, we, us and our mean the Australian Liberal Students Federation and its authorised officers, organisers, volunteers, agents and representatives.

2. Code of Conduct

  1. Attendance and participation are conditional upon continued compliance with the Australian Liberal Students Federation Code of Conduct, all lawful directions given by ALSF, venue rules, applicable laws and any event-specific requirements notified by ALSF.
  2. You acknowledge that your ticket is issued on the basis that you will conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the standards expected of participants in Federation events.
  3. Without limiting the Code of Conduct, unacceptable conduct may include disorderly behaviour, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, abuse, violence, property damage, excessive intoxication, unlawful conduct, unsafe conduct, refusal to follow reasonable directions, or conduct which in ALSF’s opinion may bring the Federation, the event or other participants into disrepute.

3. Alcohol, Safety and Behaviour

  1. Where alcohol is available, you must consume it responsibly and comply with all venue, licensing and legal requirements.
  2. ALSF may refuse service, restrict participation, remove a person from an event, or deny entry or re-entry where ALSF considers it necessary or appropriate for safety, order, legal compliance, responsible service of alcohol, protection of participants, protection of the Federation, or enforcement of the Code of Conduct.
  3. You are responsible for your own conduct and for any damage, loss, cost, claim or expense caused by your conduct, to the extent permitted by law.

4. Right to Refuse, Cancel or Remove

  1. ALSF reserves the right, in its absolute discretion and to the extent permitted by law, to refuse a ticket purchase, cancel a ticket, cancel a registration, refuse entry, remove a participant from an event, or exclude a participant from any further Federal Council activities.
  2. ALSF may exercise these rights where it reasonably considers that a participant has breached, may breach, or presents a material risk of breaching these Terms and Conditions, the Code of Conduct, venue rules, applicable laws, or any reasonable direction given by ALSF.
  3. ALSF may also exercise these rights where necessary for security, capacity, operational requirements, risk management, event integrity, reputational protection, or the orderly conduct of Federal Council.
  4. A decision to refuse entry, remove a participant, cancel a ticket or exclude a participant may take effect immediately.

5. Refunds and Forfeiture

  1. If ALSF cancels your ticket or registration because of an actual, suspected or anticipated breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Code of Conduct, venue rules, applicable laws or a reasonable direction, ALSF may, to the extent permitted by law, refuse to provide a refund.
  2. Where ALSF considers it appropriate, ALSF may provide a full or partial refund, credit or other remedy. Any such decision is discretionary and does not create an entitlement in any other case.
  3. If you are removed from, refused entry to, or excluded from an event for conduct-related reasons, you may forfeit the ticket price and any associated registration fees, meal costs, function costs or other amounts paid, to the extent permitted by law.
  4. ALSF is not responsible for travel, accommodation, incidental expenses, loss of opportunity or other costs incurred by you in connection with attendance or non-attendance, except to the extent required by law.

6. Event Changes and Cancellation by ALSF

  1. ALSF may vary event details, speakers, venues, schedules, seating arrangements, formats, capacity limits or conditions of entry where ALSF considers it necessary or appropriate.
  2. ALSF may cancel, postpone, relocate or reschedule any event or part of Federal Council for operational, safety, legal, venue, security, speaker availability, force majeure or other reasons beyond or within ALSF’s control.
  3. Where ALSF cancels or makes a material change to an event, any refund or other remedy will be handled in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and applicable law.

7. Tickets and Registration

  1. Tickets and registrations are personal to the attendee named in the booking and may not be transferred, resold, assigned or substituted without ALSF’s prior written approval.
  2. ALSF may require proof of identity, eligibility, membership, student status, age, payment, or any other matter relevant to attendance or participation.
  3. ALSF may cancel any ticket or registration obtained by error, fraud, misrepresentation, unauthorised transfer, unauthorised resale, or breach of these Terms and Conditions.

8. Directions and Venue Requirements

  1. You must comply promptly with all reasonable directions given by ALSF, venue staff, security personnel, event organisers and authorised representatives.
  2. Venue conditions of entry, dress standards, security procedures, responsible service of alcohol requirements and lawful directions apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions.

9. Photography, Recording and Publicity

  1. You acknowledge that photography, video recording, livestreaming, media coverage or promotional recording may occur at Federal Council events.
  2. By attending, you consent to ALSF using your image, likeness and voice in event records, publications, social media, promotional material and archival material, without further approval or payment, unless you notify ALSF in writing before the event and ALSF agrees to a specific arrangement.

10. Limitation of Liability

  1. To the extent permitted by law, ALSF excludes liability for any loss, damage, cost, expense, injury, delay, disruption or inconvenience arising from or connected with your attendance, participation, removal, exclusion, non-attendance, event changes or event cancellation.
  2. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee, remedy or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified, including any rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Final Authority

  1. ALSF may interpret, apply and enforce these Terms and Conditions and the Code of Conduct as it considers necessary for the proper conduct of Federal Council.
  2. Any failure or delay by ALSF in exercising a right under these Terms and Conditions does not waive that right.

12. Acceptance

  1. By purchasing, registering for, holding, accepting or using a ticket, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you must not purchase, accept or use a ticket, and you must not attend or participate in Federal Council events.
